My name is Asha Smith, and I am a freshman at Texas A&M University, pursuing a degree in mechanical and manufacturing engineering as part of the Class of 2028. I have a strong passion for robotics and innovation, with the long-term goal of becoming a Disney Imagineer. In high school, I founded and expanded The Space Dolphins, an FRC robotics team, which reinforced my interest in problem-solving and creative engineering.
Beyond academics, I am actively involved in leadership and community engagement. I have participated in Big Event and am applying to become a site leader to further contribute to service initiatives. I am also a member of Women in Engineering Organization (WEO) and the Student Association of Latino Leaders (SALL). Additionally, I have gained industry experience as a high school quality intern at Textron Aviation and as an intern at Brains for Drones.
I strive to integrate creativity into engineering, drawing inspiration from my interests in animation, science fiction, and design. My background includes experience in persuasive writing, public speaking, and leadership. I am currently working on enhancing my time management and communication skills to further develop as a professional in my field.
I am committed to using innovation to create meaningful and impactful solutions, continuously seeking opportunities to grow both personally and professionally.
